Lilly Oommen Charitable Trust is a non-profit NGO established under The Bombay Public Trust Act. 1950. The Trust was established in 1997,
by CA Mr. Blesson Oommen with the objective of educating underprivileged girls in India. The project was incepted against the backdrop of his
late mother’s dream to aspiration that girl child should be empowered like boys through education. We believe that if girls were educated, they would contribute to the family wellbeing but also lay the foundation for a more just and equal society. and improve standard of living.
With this objective it embarked on sponsoring girls’ education for a minimum period of a year and in case of deserving cases to continue on year-on-year basis.Over the last couple of years, with limited resources available, our Trust has ensured that 35 plus underprivileged girls completed formal schooling till Grade 10.
At the heart of our Governance structure is the Board of Trustees, comprising individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise who are dedicated to advancing the Trust’s mission. The Board provides strategic direction, oversees the Trust’s operations, and ensures adherence to legal and ethical standards. Trustees serve voluntarily and without compensation, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to the community.
